WORLD HUNGER

The Community Food Shelf located at First Lutheran Church has been serving the Aitkin community for 20+ years. It is solely operated by generous volunteers and fully funded/stocked by donations. In those years we have served over 1000+ households averaging 140 households per month.

The food shelf is open on the 2nd and 4th Thursdays of every month from 9am - 4pm. All residents of Aitkin county are welcome to receive food if you are need. Something proving you live in Aitkin County is all that is required. (A driver's license, a utility bill etc.)

 ----------

Here at First Lutheran Church we host three Community Meals each week. These meals are free and open to all. Meals are served each Monday at 5pm, Tuesday at 12 noon and Thursday at 5pm. (At this time, all meals are take-out only). Meals are sponsored by Loaves and Fishes. Faithful volunteers help serve the meals each week. From January thru October of 2020 they have served over 13,000 meals (this is an increase of over 3,000 meals from all of 2019) and average about 375 meals each week. Their chef is top notch and cooks healthy and hearty meals.
