Dear First Lutheran Community members,
After meeting with the staff, the executive council, and leadership of our community ministries it has been decided that we will be postponing all in-person ministries, meetings, and worships at First Lutheran until further notice. With the only exceptions being our 3 community meals each week, Monday 5pm, Tuesday Noon, and Thursday 5pm, and our Community Food Shelf.
For the food shelf and community meals, everything will be takeout only.
This is by no means an easy decision but one that we have made because we want to make sure our entire community stays safe. This is how we can take care of each other in this time of need.
For all those who would like to still participate in worships and faith building activities please know that we will be posting more opportunities on our website, Facebook pages, and on our YouTube page.
We are still live streaming on YouTube our Sunday services at 10am. We will also be on the radio at 10am on Sundays as well. Our streamed services will be available to view any time afterwards on YouTube. You can view or download the Sunday bulletin (here) to follow along if desired. There are closed captioning instructions listed below if needed. We will not need worship assistants, lectors or communion assistants during this time but we still need our video and power point volunteers.
Although the doors are locked and only staff is allowed inside, our office will be keeping normal office hours over the coming weeks. If you have any questions on any of these changes, please give us a call or email us! 218-927-2028 email@example.com.
* The weekly bulletin and announcements are available on our website: Weekly Announcements & the Sunday Bulletin or can be emailed to you. You can also check the Events and Announcements tab (below) for online information.
* If you know of someone who does not have access to internet services, we can mail these to them, so please let us know if you or anyone needs them emailed or mailed.
* We are strongly encouraging ministries that need to meet to do so either over the phone or through other teleconferencing means.
We, as a congregation, are still living into our God given mission to be that hands of God to this community in as many ways as we can safely do that. We are actively looking for ways that we can serve God and serve our neighbors even in the midst of these hard times. Please consider switching to Online giving or mailing in your support to the church and our shared ministry over these upcoming weeks. Please stay safe, follow the recommendations from our leaders, and keep all those in need in your prayers!
As we move forward we would encourage you to look at new ways of being Christ to your neighbors. Support each other in new ways, be the body of Christ in new ways. We have this amazing transforming God who is with us always no matter where we are! Never forget that!
Look for more updates from us over the next few weeks and don’t forget to check our website and Facebook for more information.
May the peace of our Lord be with you all.
